Hmm -- for me to be sure that the caterers don't understand that the general dining bubble has popped, I'd want to survey the prices they charge when you tell them you're putting on, say, a corporate event. Weddings are treated as an exception to normal budgets in good times and bad -- one of my friends advised me to tell florists, etc. that I was having a bar mitzvah or something, anything but a wedding.
